(Bal-e-Jibril-003) Tere Shishe Mein Mai Baqi Nahin Hai

Tere Shishe Mein May Baqi Nahin Hai
Bata, Kya Tu Mera Saqi Nahi Hai

Samundar Se Mille Piyase Ko Shabnam
Bakheeli Hai Ye Razzaqi Nahin Hai

  2. nobody could dare to interpret these two couplets for Sir Iqbal was so close to his Creator to complain like this but we are not to interpret............
So, I cordially appreciate the translator and interpreter for not translating and interpreting it........ very very wise!

By the way I love your work and I'm a fan! thumbs up!

  4. I think only Muhammad Iqbal can utter these kinds of word.It is an expression of his sentiments and thinkings. To me,He can express this as He is very dear and close to Allah Almighty.

I think these beautiful verses depict the spiritual agony & ecstacy of the soofi in Iqbal in his quest for the Eternal Truth(HAQ). In these verses Iqbal actually alludes to his own spiritual inadequacy & shortcomings and is begging his LORD for generous help in overcoming them. I have summoned up the temerity to render then in english for the benefit of the world in general; we should share such treasures with all in the hope that some may find in them guidance to the truth & spiritual bliss:
Is there no more sweet wine in THY Spiritual Flask?
Are THOU not the Generous LORD we stretch our hands to ask?
The Thirsty receives from THY Ocean a solitary Dew-Drop!
This is shameful miserliness! Generosity it is NOT!
