Siddique (R.A.)
Abu Bakr The Truthful
Ek Din Rusool-e-Pak (S.A.W.) Ne Ashab (R.A.) Se Kaha
Dain Maal Rah-e-Haq Mein Jo Hon Tum Mein Maal-Dar
One day the Holy Prophet said to his Companions,
‘The rich among you should give in the way of God’.
Irshad Sun Ke Fart-e-Tarb Se Umer ( R.A.) Uthe
Uss Roz Un Ke Pas The Darham Kai Hazar
On hearing that command, an overjoyed ‘Umar stood up;
That day he had thousands of dirhams.
Dil Mein Ye Keh Rahe The Ke Siddique (R.A.) Se Zuroor
Barh Kar Rakhe Ga Aaj Qadam Mera Rahwar
Today, for sure, he said in his heart,
My horse will take the lead from Abu Bakr’s.
Laye Ghazke Maal Rusool-e-Ameen (S.A.W.) Ke Paas
Aesar Ki Hai Dast Nigar Ibtadaye Kaar
So he brought his wealth to the Trustworthy Prophet—
Sacrifice is needed to start a project off.
Pucha Huzoor Sarwar-e-Alam (S.A.W.) Ne, Ae Umer!
Ae Woh Ke Josh-e-Haq Se Tere Dil Ko Hai Qarar
‘Umar’, asked the Prophet, the Sovereign of the world,
‘A passion for truth is the sole comfort of your heart.
Rakha Hai Kuch Ayaal Ki Khatir Bhi Tu Ne Kya?
Muslim Hai Apne Khowesh-o-Aqarab Ka Haq-Guzar
Did you keep anything back for your family?—
For a Muslim must honour the duty he bears to his relations.’
Ki Arz Nisf Maal Hai Farzand-o-Zan Ka Haq
Baqi Jo Hai Woh Millat-e-Baiza Pe Hai Nisar
‘Half’, he said, ‘belongs to wife and children,
The rest I offer to the Community of Light.’
Itne Mein Woh Rafeeq-e-Nabuwwat Bhi Aa Gya
Jis Se Binaye Ishq-o-Mohabbat Hai Ustawar
In the meantime that Companion of the Prophet arrived
Who gives strength to the edifice of love and devotion.
Le Aya Apne Sath Woh Mard-e-Wafa Sarisht
Har Cheez, Jis Se Chashm-e-Jahan Mein Ho Aetibar
No man more loyal, he brought with him
Everything with value in the eyes of the world:
Milk-e-Yameen-o-Dirham-o-Dinar-o-Rakht-o-Jinse
Isp-e-Qamarsam-o-Shutar-o-Qatir-o-Himaar
Slaves, money, goods and chattels.
He brought his horses, their hooves shining like the moon, and his camels, mules and asses.
Bole Huzoor (S.A.W.), Chahiye Fikr-e-Ayaal Bhi
Kehne Laga Woh Ishq-o-Mohabbat Ka Raaz-Dar
The Prophet said, ‘It is necessary to think of one’s family too!’
That man, who knew the secrets of love, said,
Ae Tujh Se Didah-e-Mah-o-Anjum Farogh-Geer!
Ae Teri Zaat Baees-e-Takween-e-Rozgar!
‘You are the one from whom the moon and stars receive the brightness of their eyes;
And you are the one for whose sake the universe was brought into being:
Parwane Ko Charagh Hai, Bulbul Ko Phool Bas
Siddique Ke Liye Hai Khuda Ka Rusool (S.A.W.) Bas
The lamp is enough for the moth, the flower is enough for the nightingale—
For Abu Bakr the Prophet of God is enough’.
